Coho fishing in Sitka can be spectacular! These acrobatic, top water fish can prove to be tackle testers on ultra light gear. Fishing in the ocean provides us with the consistency and action we are looking for. Multi fish hookups are more common than not. The Silvers range from 8 to 20 pounds. |

The incredible king season season kicked off in the second week of May and continued throughout June. Consistent limits and plenty of catch and release action made for satisfied anglers. Top producing spots were Kruzof, Biorka, and Baranof Islands. The average size of the kings ranged from 20-25 lbs., with many taken in the 30 to 40 lb. classes! We also landed some above average sized kings this summer. They topped the scales at 47, 48, 49 and 50 lbs. Schooling silvers were scattered through out the month of June. July provided steady action for silver salmon and August provided better silver numbers yet. Kruzof and Biorka Island seemed to be the top producers. We should also mention that the high abundance of king salmon again this year provided fantastic combination fishing for silvers and kings in July and August. The average size of the silvers were 10 - 12 lbs., with our largest silver this year tipping the scales at 18 lbs. Halibut news Captain Derek |
