Set the hook and hold on!  Halibut are known for their strength and endurance.  Your arms will feel it at the end of the day.  Sitka is located in an ideal spot, just an hour's boat ride from some of the finest Halibut grounds in Southeast Alaska.  The Halibut range from 20 to over 300 lbs., averaging between 30-70 lbs. with larger fish common.

Lingcod -- a prehistoric looking fish.
And while we're halibut fishing, we often catch lingcod, sometimes big ones!  These prehistoric looking fish have one thing on their mind...eating.  The lingcod with their big head, mouth, teeth, and long/sleek body makes them a predatory machine.  Sitka has some great lingcod fishing -- in fact, the last four world records have been caught at Sitka.  Lingcod range from 15 to 70 lbs.
